The GT-R plays to the strengths of both old school and new school skiing styles. Coming into the buoy the tail of the ski rides deep through the turn, carrying lots of speed with tremendous grip. Coming out of the turn the geometries in the ski help bring the tail up higher in the water to ease the load from the rope as you prepare to accelerate across the wake. Chasing buoys at the highest level requires a finely tuned swerve stick that reacts in all the right places, which is why the GT-R is the ultimate slalom weapon.
Riding Style: Competition
Profile: 90/10 Carbon/Glass
Recommended Speed: 51-58kmh
- Low density, CNC cut PVC core
- 90/10 carbon/fiberglass layup
- C.A.P.T. (Connelly Advanced Profile Technology)
- Hybrid base – polished tip, micro-textured tail
- Speed V-Tech
- Wide tunnel
- Variable bevel
V-Tech adapted for a faster moving ski. Curves in the “V” shaped steps disrupt more flow in the center of the tunnel and less along the edge. This reduces overall drag while maintaining edge hold.
Carbon is extremely light and super responsive. We combine that with 10% fiberglass which dampens vibration making slight chop feel like butter and drastically increasing the life of your ski.
This tunnel design leaves an extremely narrow flat spot between the edge of the tunnel and the bevel of the ski. The effect is a ski that actively seeks to be on edge, most useful for experienced skiers and buoy chasers that have above average ski control.
